Lesson Plan
Design-The objective of the plan is to teach students their times tables from 0-5, integrating
various technologies.
Plan- Day 1- learn the times tables from 0-1
-Using handouts students will learn all the zero times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
-Using handouts students will learn all the one times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
Day 2- learn the times tables for 2 and 3
-Using handouts students will learn all the zero times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
-Using handouts students will learn all the one times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
Day 3- learn the times tables for 4
-Using handouts students will learn all the zero times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
Day 4- learn the times tables for 5
-Using handouts students will learn all the zero times tables through 10
-Break students into small groups and make flash cards to practice
-Review for test
Day 5- informal testing for 0-5
-Using the flash cards made by the students, instructor will randomly call
on students and show them a flash card and await for an answer. This
will continue until each student has gone 4 times. Grades are awarded
based on how many answers the student gets correct 4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D.
Act- Day 1- -get seperate handouts of the zero and one times tables.
-have 3 x 5 note cards for flash cards
-have markers for flash cards
Day 2- -get seperate handouts of the two and three times tables.
-have 3 x 5 note cards for flash cards
-have markers for flash cards
Day 3- -get seperate handouts of the four times tables.
-have 3 x 5 note cards for flash cards
-have markers for flash cards
Day 4- -get seperate handouts of the five times tables.
-have 3 x 5 note cards for flash cards
-have markers for flash cards
Day 5- -seperate the flash cards making sure all cards from 0-5 are all there and
mix them up. (Use duplicates after that if needed but make sure that you
have exactly enough cards so that each student will have to answer 4 times)
-have the students get in a big circle.
-stand in the middle and start by showing a student a flash card. If they get
it right give them the card to hold. If they get it wrong, put it to the side.
-once you are out of cards you will know each student has gone 4 times.
-go around again and ask each student to bring you their cards and mark
their grade in your book.
